According to a research carried out by Rede Brasil Voluntário and Ibope Inteligência, almost 35 million Brazilians with sixteen years old or more have or has done one volunteering job, which means, one out of four Brazilians give part of their spare time to contribute with the construction of a better world.

This year, to celebrate this date, AFESU did an event, where all the volunteers from the three units and the administrate headquarters were invited to a morning of thanks. The event was held in AFESU Moinho and head the presence of almost 70 guests.

The students from the Hospitality Technical Course received the volunteers, with a pin, specially made for the occasion. After the opening coffee break, the AFESU president, Elza Maria Giannico, and the executive director, Ilsiane Peloso, presented a general view of the organization, pointing the most important marks in AFESU story and the current initiates. After that, one of the current student from the Gastronomy Technical Course, Denise Alves, made a statement, pointing out the difference that the dedication of all make to the beneficiaries.

The morning still had a moment to honour some volunteers that marked AFESU trajectory, such as Maria Lucia Alckmin, one of the founding volunteers. At the end, there was a brunch specially made by the students to thank all the volunteers for their time and dedication to AFESU.

“The event evidenced the history that AFESU have been building throughout these years. We have amazing people helping us daily to care and orient more than 700 girls. All our thanks is little compared to this generous hearts. We got a lot to do and we need more and more help”, says Ilsiane, executive director of AFESU.
